Every so often, we may find ourselves stuck in a “rut”, weighed down by burdens that leave us feeling empty of choice. We experience more ruminating on an unknown future, focusing heavily on a physical pain or concern, or constant comparing our situation to others, to name a few. This new familiar voice takes hold and creates a “rut” within, leaving us feeling stuck. Yet, with a little focused attention, we can notice we have a choice! That is, once we become aware of our negative thought spiral, we may allow in some alternate ways to look at our experience. We can find areas to introduce nuance, find growth, and/or move towards acceptance. We can begin by using some simple phrases that resonate with us, such as, … “I am surrounded by love and support”… “I have access to all I need”… or “I release the fears that do not fuel me and look to the opportunities of today”.
